What a great prompt. When I think of eco a couple of things come to mind – the worlds eco system which is under attack so to speak by global warming and climate change that according to the current occupant of the White House in the United States and pretty much most Republican lawmakers is a hoax. Take a look at our crazy weather patterns across the globe in 2017 and now the beginning of 2018. We have seen several devastating hurricanes, flooding, fires that are fueled by the weather after they begin, and now for the third or fourth year we are record low temperatures, record snowfall which is also causing record flooding in areas of the country that has never seen the likes of ever especially not 30 years ago.
I also think of global food markets and the imports from China and other countries that are wreaking havoc on producers of many crops, and products here in the United States which in turn wreaks havoc on the consumer due to adulterated products like honey, garlic that is peeled by prisoners in China and then shipped to the U.S. and more which in turn has an effect on the U.S. economy and the economies of our citizens.
A new documentary series popped up on my Netflix. It is called “Rotten” https://www.netflix.com/title/80146284.
It is very eye opening to say the least. The first 6 episodes are as follows:
1 – Lawyers, Guns and Honey which details the practice of adulterating honey and how the majority of honey sold in the United States is imported from China and other countries.
2 – The Peanut Problem, which details the food allergies to peanuts and other food allergies and how it affects the everyday consumer and peanut growers in the U.S.
3 – Garlic Breath details how cooking shows turned the humble garlic bulb into a multi-billion dollar crop. But a lawsuit raises troubling questions about top suppliers – mainly China.
4 – Big Bird, details the ruthlessly efficient world of chicken production pits vulnerable growers against each other and leaves them open to vicious acts of sabotage.
5 – Milk Money details how changing diets and dramatic price swings have put dairy farmers on the ropes and fueled a surge in lucrative but controversial raw milk sales.
6 – Cod is Dead details as the global fish supply dwindles, the industry faces crises on all sides – including crooked moguls, dubious imports and divisive regulations.
This docuseries travels deep into the heart of the food supply chain to reveal unsavory truths and expose hidden forces that shape what we eat.
NETFLIX.COM. I have enjoyed the series.
This is what has Rattled my Cage!!
If you have had a problem with alcoholism or cocaine addiction or know someone that has had one or both – every family has at least one and some have multiples, you know that the most passionate individual in their lives is their spouse or life partner. I can tell you that my husband of almost 17 years Cruz, we are not legally married because we do not believe in gay marriage because of our faith – but we do believe in civil unions to protect ourselves under the law, has been the most passionate and compassionate individuals throughout my many years of struggles with alcoholism and cocaine addiction. Sometimes to the point of being a passionate enabler which was of no help!
I am so truly BLESSED and PROUD to call him mine and that I get to wake up with him every day for the rest of my life!!!
This is what has Rattled My Cage!!!
Very proud and happy to state that today is a TRUE 30 Days of being CLEAN AND SOBER after a very rough 2016 and 2017 regarding my deep depression, bipolar affectation, alcoholism and addiction to cocaine!!

Drama, drama, drama! It would not be my annual Christmas trip to Shore Acres, Texas to see my two older sisters, their husbands, my three nieces and their husbands and my four beautiful great nieces and my great nephew, without my oldest sister causing a whole lot of drama. Every year we try to plan my trip where I get to spend as much time with everyone, this trip was extremely short 3 1/2 days and three nights so planning did not go quite as planned. For one I arrived into Downtown Houston at 3:30pm instead of the 11:15am arrival I was supposed to have.
I start early on Thursday 12/21 through a family group text to determine our food plans for Christmas day to no avail. Then some other family group texts happened that were of no help. The straw that broke the camels’ back was when my other sister made a suggestion and was asking everyone’s opinion about the entire family doing our big family Christmas moving forward on 12/23 because now with my nieces and their husbands having their things they do on Christmas Eve and the blended families due to divorces etc. – it is very hard to plan anything for Christmas Day because of some of the children being at the other parents house and not always having a clear picture of parental exchanges.
My oldest took it as though the decision had already been made and she was ugly to me and she made my other sister cry because she accused of distancing herself from, which was ridiculous. In the end We all got together on Christmas Day and everyone acted like everything was great. We had a great day. The next day before I left to return to San Antonio, I called my oldest sister and could tell something was wrong – she had a tone. She proceeded to tell me that her Christmas had been f@#@#@# ruined. I did not touch it because lately if we breathe wrong she takes offense.
Finally on Saturday of last week both sisters had a five hour lunch and hashed it all out and as I already said all the DRAMA was because the oldest was not reading or reading things into the family group texts that was no there. Boy am I glad that DRAMA is OVER!!!
That is the drama the has Rattled My Cage!!

This time of year is so bittersweet because over the next few months we remember the loss of 6 of our fur babies and all of the wonderful memories we have of Tippy (1/4/2016), Buddy (1/22/2016), Fluffy (2/4/2016), Minnie – Doodle (4/22/2016), Patty (5/27/2016) and our old man Stitchy (12/26/2016).
But now we are make continuous memories with our current pack of 7 of in the order they came in the house Missy , Crissy, Little Bitty (our granddaughter from Missy and Buddy/Stitchy), Sadie, Stitchy Jr. (named in honor of our Stitchy), and Tippy (named in honor of our Tippy). Sadie and Stichy are brother and sister and just turned 9 months old, we rescued them from being abandoned on July 1, 2017. Tippy is a little over a year old and she decided I was her human on July 7, 2017.
This is what has Rattled My Cage regarding memories!!
