Playing Catch Up – Love Is In Da Blog 2020 – Day 4

Day 4 was for a Love song for your first love for #LoveIsInDaBlog. I have chosen “The Dance”  by Garth Brooks. This song epitomizes every single relationship that I have had from my fiancé Dawn Renee Larson when I was 18 and knew I was at least bisexual as did she to my now 19 year marriage to the most wonderful man that God could have ever brought into my life, My Cruzer!!!!

Love Is In Da Blog – 2/1/2020 – “Baby It’s Cold Outside”

I am so excited that Bee Halton has started the 2020 version of “Love Is In Da Blog”!

So we all have heard that winter classic “Baby It’s Cold Outside”. While it is a song that never gets old during the holidays, I really loved the updated revamped version sung by John Legend and Kelly Clarkson. The two judges from The Voice rewrote the lyrics to fit our modern times and in my opinion it can have the staying power as well.

John Legend and Kelly Clarkson – “Baby It’s Cold Outside”

Baby, It’s Cold Outside
I really can’t stay (baby, it’s cold outside)
I’ve got to go away (but, I can call you a ride)
This evening has been (I’m so glad you that you dropped in)
So very nice (time spent with you is paradise)
My mom will start to worry (I’ll call the car and tell him to hurry)
My daddy will be pacing the floor (wait, what are you still livin’ home for?)
So, really, I’d better scurry (your driver, his name is Murray)
But maybe just a half a drink more (oh, we’re both adults, so who’s keepin’ score)
What will my friends think? (I think they should rejoice)
If I have one more drink? (It’s your body and your choice)
Ooh you really know how (your eyes are like starlight now)
To cast a spell (one look at you and then I fell)
I ought to say, “No, no, no, sir” (then you really ought to go, go, go)
At least I’m gonna say that I tried (well, Murray, he just pulled up outside)
I really can’t stay
(I understand, baby)
Baby, it’s cold outside
I simply should go (text me when you get home)
Oh, I’m supposed to say no (mm, I guess that’s respectable)
This welcome has been (I feel lucky that you dropped in)
So nice and warm (but you better go before it storms)
My sister will be suspicious (well, gosh your lips look delicious)
My brother will be there at the door (oh, he loves my music, baby, I’m sure)
My gossipy neighbor’s vicious (I’m a genie, tell me what your wish is)
But maybe just a cigarette more (oh, that’s somethin’ we should probably explore)
I’ve got to get home (oh, baby, I’m well aware)
Say, lend me a coat (oh, keep it girl, I don’t care)
You’ve really been grand (I feel good to touch me hands)
Don’t you see? (I want you to stay, it’s not up to me)
There’s bound to be talk tomorrow (well, they can talk, what do they know)
At least there will be plenty implied (oh, let their mind do this, and-)
Ma’am, I really can’t stay
Baby, just go
It’s cold, baby
It’s cold, baby
But, ooh, I don’t wanna go
It’s cold outside

I have not written a post since May 2, 2019. There have been may things that have happened since that last post. but more on that later. The best thing that has happened is that I was hired as the Lead Sales Associate Part-Time for the Dollar General and started working on 6/3/19. Even better than that the full time Lead Sales Associate just up and turned in their keys and walked out on 7/4/19 – which in turn allowed me to be promoted to Lead Sales Associate Full Time also giving me the ability to have full benefits.

Yes, the recovery journey continues with hiccups but they are coming fewer and further between each other.

It has been interesting adjusting to a schedule that is not set in stone, I am glad that I am sitting behind a desk – but the standing and constant walking is taking a daily toll on the hips causing me to be extremely tired – but that is a good thing. I love the fact that I am interacting with people daily and many of them are regulars that we see everyday.

I also attended the wedding of my youngest niece on 6/23/19 and that was a wonderful event. I will writ more on that later with pictures.

Late SOCS 3/23/19 – Flo from Progressive

Related image

So you are probably wondering why Flo from Progressive is presented here. Well the last piece of mail that I received was an advertisement sating that I could get car insurance for $79.00 per month.

Car insurance, we all have to have it, it is the law. But how do you determine what company to go with. Obviously we look at what features are included in your coverage, can you pay monthly or is it an every six months billing type of situation? But most of all we want to know how much it is going to cost to insure our four wheeled child.

My Cecilia is a 1995 Ford Taurus with over 188K miles on her. She has bee through the ringer because my brother in laws children have pretty much tore the inside ceiling of the car. She has some dings but, she gets me from paint a to point be for the most part. On Thursday I went to a job fair in the morning and then to an interview later in the afternoon. I was going to take the back roads to the interview but the traffic lights were not working in my favor so at one point I got on the freeway the rest of the way there and made it with 10 minutes to spare. On the way home I did take the back roads and less than three miles from my house, poor Cecilia said she had had enough and so we waited in the parking lot of a funeral home for the tow truck to get us home.

The reason Flo is looking like that in her picture is that I told her, girl $79 per month, I pay $15 less than that with USAA, why in the world would I switch. She was not happy!! I love USAA, I bank with them and now my car insurance is with them and they are fantastic and yes of course my towing is covered up to 11 miles.

#FOWC – Blot

Related imageOther days, I feel as though the phantom BLOT has taken over me when my manic episodes are in play and the depression is trying to creep in – in turn trying to trigger some use of alcohol or other substance.

My goal daily is to keep the phantom blot at bay by sticking to my routines that work, and I have found that this is the most important key of my day!!!

The Difference Between Sympathy and Empathy

This is so important to remember. It so easy for us to have sympathy and yet never show empathy!!

Meditations in Motion

Meditations in MotionRejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. – Romans 12:15

My friends know that one of the rules I live by is “No one cries alone.” It’s actually not a rule, more like a reflex. If someone in my vicinity is crying, I am also crying. It’s contagious, kind of like yawning.

On the other hand, laughter is contagious too. My hubby Bill has an infectious laugh. He often laughs until tears stream down his cheeks. It is impossible not to laugh when this man is laughing.

Empathy is one of the most important human emotions. It allows us to feel connected to others. We all need to be understood; empathy satisfies that need. It’s what allows us to walk a mile in someone else’s shoes. It’s the ability to put yourself in someone else’s place, to feel the same emotions they are feeling.
